Woman Arrested for DUI Three Times in One Week

by Martin Arguello

A woman in Colorado was reportedly arrested three times in one week for driving under the influence. Kimberly Micheloni, a 40-year-old office manager for the Internal Revenue Service, was arrested for the third time on May 20 and charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and two counts of contempt of court. She was also arrested on May 13, when she was charged with DUI and child abuse, and the following day, when she faced another DUI charge.

DUI Driver Faces Child Abuse Charges

The child abuse charge that went with the first arrest occurred because Ms. Micheloni’s 14-year-old daughter was a passenger at the time of her arrest. Under Colorado law, a driver facing a DUI charge may also be charged with child abuse if a minor is in the car at the time. The contempt of court charges may stem from her previous arrests and failure to comply with the terms of hr release. As of yesterday, she remains in the Douglas County Jail on $225,000 bond.

Prescription Drugs to Blame for DUI Charges?

According to a jailhouse interview Ms. Micheloni had with a local television station, she took time off from her job with the IRS due to illness. She told the reporter that she had been taking medication prescribed by her doctor and followed the prescription instructions. She did not reveal the nature of her illness or what prescription drugs she had been taking at the time of her DUI arrests. However, she did acknowledge that her behavior was “wrong, it was just wrong” and that she was “so sorry…if I hurt anyone”.
